Advanced technology has brought the development of mobile phones that contributed sharp effects to human lives.  Lifestyle has changed dramatically.  People can help balance their family and working lives. There is a convergence of various features like media and telephony functions which have evolved continuously in order to support the needs and desires of people in their everyday life.  People can capture images through the phone camera.  They can listen to MP3 or radio, and even access the internet.

Distance is not a barrier anymore in terms of communication.  People can coordinate with anybody they wish to talk to anywhere they are with this wonderful modern gadget.  Personal and business affairs have improved.

Relationships got better or even developed.  Families and friends have been closely knit together because it’s not difficult to get in touch anymore.   Everything is just a one phone call away.  Sending a message is quite easy and fast, too via the text messaging service.  Receiving a response to message could be instant as well.   Maintaining a contact with their loved ones is not a problem anymore.

Businesses tap the cell phone company in providing them the communication service to their employees based on the necessity.  Employees believe that performing their job will be very easy of moderately easy with a mobile.  Others believe that it’s impossible to accomplish their tasks without it.  Companies have adapted it as a mode of communication.  The performance of a job has achieved a better quality with ease and speed.  Business transactions are set quickly which is giving rise to profits to most enterprises.

Amidst all the good things that a mobile communication has brought, there are also adverse effects such as added expense, used in plotting crimes, quality of leisure time, and there are times when there is a disruption of an activity due to a call.

The use of mobile phone has become indispensable in the modern life of people.

Blackberry become target of cyber criminal

Internet security experts worried about the growing threat of cyber-intensive on smartphones like the BlackBerry or iPhone. Users were expected to increase alertness.

“Almost can guarantee that almost all the attacks that occurred in the computer will appear in smartphones,” said Jake Widman, a technology analyst who launched CNN and quoted on Monday (26/10/2009).

This phenomenon is because the increasing adoption of smartphone. According to Gartner data, in the year 2008 alone more than 139 million smartphones were sold worldwide. This is an increase of 13.9 percent compared to figures in 2007.

Users currently access the Internet more and more of the smartphone and payment transactions. This makes the crackers are tempted to take the offensive with the intention to dredge the money.

Analysts said that cyber attacks such as Trojans blow often spread to the smartphone via e-mail attachment. There were also attacks via Bluetooth.
But many users who seem to underestimate the smartphone and protect the instrumentalities not. Trend Micro survey reveals, only 23 percent of smartphone users to install security software.

While Khoi Nguyen, Product Manager at Symantec also warned of the risk that occurs when the smartphone is stolen. If you fall into the hands of cyber criminals, the possibility of such important data would be misused bank accounts of criminals.

From the producers themselves are also aware of this security problem. Scott Totzke, Vice President of the BlackBerry’s Security Groups recommends that all users use passwords smartphone, regularly download security updates and only use applications from trusted sources.
